Terms of Use

Effective May 25, 2026  ·  Last updated May 28, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Ledge, a mobile personal finance tracker for iOS and Android, published by Tej Orugonda (sole developer). In these Terms, "we" or "Tej" means Tej Orugonda, and "you" means the person using the app.

The hosted version of these Terms lives at https://tejorugonda.com/ledge/terms. Our privacy policy lives at https://tejorugonda.com/ledge/privacy and is a separate document.

Acceptance

By installing or using Ledge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or continue to use the app. Your continued use after a change to these Terms is taken as acceptance of the updated version.

The app and your licence to use it

Ledge is a personal finance tracker that stores your accounts, transactions, currencies, categories, and app settings on your device only. The app makes routine network calls for currency exchange rates, for the advertisements shown in the free version, and (optionally) for in-app purchases. The privacy policy describes exactly what leaves your device and when.

We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices that you own or control, for the purpose of tracking your own finances. You may not redistribute the app, reverse-engineer it, or remove or obscure any proprietary notices, except where applicable law expressly permits.

Pro features and in-app purchases

Ledge is free to install and use. Some features ("Pro features") are available only after an in-app purchase. When you tap "Upgrade to Pro" and complete a purchase, the transaction is processed by the platform store you bought it on (Apple App Store or Google Play) and validated through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment details.

Advertising

The free version of Ledge shows advertisements served by Google AdMob. The same one-time in-app purchase that unlocks Pro features also removes ads. What the ad SDK accesses, and what it never receives (your financial data never leaves your device), is described in the privacy policy.

Your responsibilities

Because Ledge stores your data on your device, a few responsibilities sit with you rather than with us:

Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of exchange rates, accuracy of balances, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be free of bugs, errors, or interruptions, that data will never be lost or corrupted, that exchange rates will reflect the rate you would actually obtain in a real transaction, or that the app will be compatible with every future version of your device's operating system.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you arising out of or relating to the app or these Terms — whether in contract, tort, or any other legal theory — is capped at the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us through in-app purchases in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $1.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or any financial decision you make based on what you saw in the app, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; where so, the limitation applies only to the extent permitted.

Intellectual property

The Ledge app, including its source code, design, branding, name, icon, and accompanying material, is owned by Tej Orugonda. You retain all rights to the data you enter into the app (your accounts, your transactions, your categories) — we make no claim over your data. Exporting it, deleting it, and moving it between devices is yours to do at any time.

Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We may suspend or end your access to features (including Pro features) if you breach these Terms or if a platform store requires us to do so. The disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, intellectual-property terms, and governing law continue to apply after termination.

Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and publish the new version at the same URL. Material changes will be called out in the in-app release notes for the version that introduces the change. The hosted URL is the authoritative version; any locally cached copy may be out of date.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in this section overrides any consumer-protection rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
